President Brandon Butterfield: Hello There! My name is Brandon, a PSL native, and I’m the Stuart Flying Club’s President. I first earned my PPL at Riddle in 2019, and I’ve been a CFI since 2022. I founded this club with the hope that we can help advocate on behalf of General Aviation within our community, provide high quality cost effective aircraft for our members, and I’m most excited about organizing community outreach/volunteer events to create opportunities for our members to serve our neighbors here in the Treasure Coast. I’m also looking forward to arranging fun flight activities and other events when the Club grows!
Brandon has also been serving on the Board of Directors as Chairman since August 2025
Vice President Patrick McCoy: "Hi, I’m Patrick McCoy, the Club’s Vice President. I’m an aspiring airline pilot with a passion for aviation. Looking forward to what we can accomplish together!”

Chief Maintenance Officer David Milner: “I’m David Milner, Chief Maintenance Officer for the Stuart Flying Club. Aviation has been a lifelong passion for me, from repairing general aviation aircraft in high school to becoming a Check Airman for Southwest Airlines training and evaluating airline pilots.
I hold an ATP, Gold Seal CFI/CFII, AGI, IGI, and an FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate with Inspection Authorization. Along the way, I’ve worked as an airline mechanic, managed an FAA-approved maintenance department, and contributed to satellite solar array projects now displayed alongside Space Shuttle Discovery.
Today, I’m still learning and flying, currently working toward a helicopter rating. I’m passionate about making aviation more accessible and helping others experience the excitement of flight through the Stuart Flying Club.“
David has also been serving on the Board of Directors since August 2025
Secretary Dylan Claesgens: “Hello, my name is Dylan Claesgens. I am the Stuart Flying Club Secretary. I am a 16 year old high school student here in Martin County and a student pilot working on my private. I plan to help the club in anyway I can and am excited to meet likeminded people that might be able to help me reach my goals.”

Activities Officer Tom Kott: “Hi everyone, I’m Tom. I’m a private pilot and have loved flying ever since I earned my certificate back in 2014. Life and family responsibilities pulled me away from aviation for a while, but I’m excited to be getting back into flying again and reconnecting with the aviation community. I’m honored to serve as the Stuart Flying Club’s Activities Officer and look forward to getting to know everyone and helping make the club even more fun and active!”
Social Media Officer Shamar: “Hey guys! I’m Shamar, a South Florida native and the Club’s Social Media Officer. I enjoy swimming, volunteering at my church, and Canada Dry Ginger Ale (not Schweppes). I’m looking forward to all the club’s fun social events and posting the highlights on here!”
